NZDTA Oral History Group

The collection and archiving of oral history interviews conducted with past school dental nurses is continuing. Oral history interviews provide an archived record of the service's past through individual memories.

Eight further interview tapes and abstracts have recently been completed and deposited with the Alexander Turnbull Library's Oral History Centre. Future interview tapes will also be lodged there.

The project aims to record individual memories and personal recollections of beginning school dental nurse training, the nature of the training course, graduating and first postings and experiences on the job. NZDTA members who know of women who are interested in being interviewed should contact the Executive Officer, NZDTA, email nzdta@nzdta.co.nz.
