Events 21st Congress of the International Association for Disability and Oral Health
Sydney, Australia, 17 - 20 October 2012In October 2012, Sydney will host this important international Disability and Oral Health forum - the IADH 2012 Congress. IADH 2012 will be a very exciting and productive Congress. The Scientific Program is being designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas, knowledge and information on special needs dentistry. The venue is the stunning Hilton Hotel located in the heart of the city. The Congress will attract a high level of decision makers in the field of Disability and Oral Health. The Scientific Program will befit a meeting with a quality and range that will be of interest and benefit to everyone in the world interested in dentistry and disability. Importantly, the scientific program will span the latest developments and best practice in this field and will be delivered by renowned international, national and local speakers. We are expecting many of the leaders from around the world to attend with over 800 dentists, therapist, dental nurses and other dental professionals expected to participate. The 'Pathways' 2010 Biennial NZDA Conference is to be held at the Christchurch Convention Centre and the NZDA

The University of Melbourne, Melbourne Dental School, Continuing Professional Development program is running a CPD course during 2010
which may be of interest to the New Zealand, therapists and hygienists.Local Analgesia for Dental Hygienists 14-16 July, 2010 This course comprises a combination of didactic and practical work incorporating supported clinical experience and small group work. It will include clinical experience in the administration of local analgesia and also externally supervised practice experience. Further details and registration form. Intra-Oral Radiography 17-18 June, 2010 This two-day course consists of theory and practical experience for dental therapists and hygienists wishing to learn to expose intra oral films or to upgrade/refresh their skills. This course will concentrate specifically on periapical, bitewing and occlusal films. The techniques covered will be the bisecting angle and paralleling techniques.
